Ms Georgia

The Principal of Rise and Shine

Hello, my name is Ms Georgia, and I am proud to be the principal of Rise and Shine Kindergarten. With over 11 years of experience in early childhood education,I have gained an abundant and profound understanding of the Childcare industry. Through my extensive training and experiences, I hold a diploma in Childcare, CELTA certification, and First Aid certification.

My career in education began 11 years ago, and since then, I have been working in various positions in Kindergarten departments. Eight years ago, I decided to move to Bahrain and continued my journey here. As a result, I have held the position of Kindergarten teacher, head of Kindergarten department, and now, I am honoured to be the Principal of Rise and Shine Kindergarten.

Aside from my professional career, I love to indulge in my hobbies. I love enjoying a cup of coffee while reading a thrilling book. I also enjoy listening to music and appreciate various genres, from classical to modern-day hits.

My educational philosophy emphasises the importance of every student’s happiness and uniqueness. Therefore, I strive to create student-led classrooms, where children can express themselves and learn based on their unique personalities and learning styles. My goal for Rise and Shine Kindergarten is to ensure the students are learning in a fun, loving, and safe environment. At our school, we offer a range of activities and games that engage children and foster a love for learning that will stay with them for life.

As the Principal of Rise and Shine Kindergarten, I am committed to creating an environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. I am passionate about providing children with the necessary tools, support, and guidance they need to build a solid foundation for their future. I look forward to working with parents and the community to help our students rise and shine every day!

Ms Ola

Counsellor

Hi there! My name is Ola Abbas and I am the counsellor at Rise and Shine Kindergarten. I am dedicated to helping students grow and thrive as well as provide them with the tools they need to succeed in both their academic and personal lives.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, seven years of experience in counselling, and certification in both First Aid and ICDL, I am well-equipped to support the unique needs of young children.

As a counsellor, my duties include providing guidance and support for both academic and behavioural challenges, as well as offering individual and group counselling sessions to help students build problem-solving skills and learn positive behaviour management strategies. My goal is to create a safe space where every child feels comfortable and confident expressing themselves fully, no matter their background or difficulties.

Outside of school, I enjoy socialising and spending time with my own children. I am excited to be a part of the Rise and Shine Kindergarten community and am committed to helping our students grow, thrive, and achieve their full potential.

Ms Chizzy

Nursery Teacher

Hello! I am Ms. Chizzy, a nursery teacher from the United States of America. I am an experienced enthusiastic educator who has worked with students 3-10 years of age. I love working with children and playing a significant role in fostering their growth. I am also a licensed nurse in America as well as Bahrain. My experience in nursing includes caring for the health needs of people from different backgrounds.

In America, I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Bachelors of Science in Nursing. During my last 2 years in college, I worked as a Direct Support Professional supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, this increased my desire to work for vulnerable populations. After obtaining my degrees I held various positions related to my fields of study, some of which prompted me to move to Bahrain. I developed an interest in traveling the world, learning new cultures and serving the people I meet along the way.

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, cooking, and volunteering. As the Rise and Shine nursery teacher I strive to ensure all students are enriched with quality education according to their individual needs. My goal for the Nursery Class is that all students understand and apply what they learn and be fully prepared to move on to the next grade. To reach this goal I plan to uplift their minds in a fun and safe environment.

Ms Jeewani

Nursery Teaching Assistant

Hello, my name is Ms Jeewani and I am a teaching assistant for Nursery at Rise and Shine Kindergarten. Originally from a beautiful island in Sri Lanka, I am highly experienced and passionate about teaching young children.

I earned my Teacher Training Diploma and have been working as a teaching assistant for many years now. I am a kind and friendly person, which makes me an excellent role model for our students. I am dedicated to helping them succeed and develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

I am enthusiastic about all areas of education and strive to support children in all aspects of their learning. My goal is to improve students’ academic performance and provide additional support to those who need it, while also helping teachers manage classroom activities.

I believe that school is not just about academic development, but also about creating a sense of belonging and positive relationships between students and staff. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment every day where our youngest learners feel happy and comfortable.

I feel very lucky to be a part of the team at Rise and Shine Kindergarten, and I am committed to inspiring and making a difference in the lives of our students.

Ms Naamah

Year One and Drama Teacher

My name is Ms. Naamah, and I look forward to teaching Year 1 and Drama this year at Rise & Shine. Originally, I was born in New York City in the U.S.. I have traveled to many places since, but Bahrain is the first country outside of America that I have lived in!

Fun fact: I starred in the movie, Sesame Street: Let’s Make Music! when I was 7 years old, and I have been a part of numerous plays throughout the years. However, my greatest passion is working with kids. From tutoring many subjects, to teaching dance, to summer camps and afterschool programs as well as volunteering in youth development programs, the experience has always been a joy.

My full-time teaching career started directly after graduating from City College of New York, as a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant at Kipp Academy. Since then, I have taught at Upstate Child Care Center, Dunbar Association, and Talent International & Infant School. As a teacher, my role is to spark curiosity and motivate the application of knowledge in my students’ lives. I am aware that I set the pace for the generation I educate, and I desire to pioneer a treasurable, innovative, and blossoming learning environment where students can turn their dreams into realities using what they learn both inside and outside of the classroom!

My End of Year goal is to draw out students to think purposefully with the understanding that their lives can make a difference in the world they live in.

Ms Rose

Year One Teaching Assistant

Hello, my name is Ms Rose. I am thrilled to be a teaching assistant for year one at Rise and Shine Kindergarten. I was born and raised in the Philippines and have obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Science back in 2000.

I have been working with children for 6 years and it has always been a rewarding experience for me to be a part of their educational journey. I am delighted to bring my expertise and passion for teaching to the students in our kindergarten.

Outside of school, my hobbies include walking, shopping, and solving word puzzles. I believe that it is essential to engage in activities that challenge and stimulate our brains.

As a teaching assistant, my goal is to work closely with the teacher to create a positive and safe learning environment for every student. I aim to help students develop a love for learning by providing them with fun and engaging experiences while assisting them in their academic progress.

I am committed to helping our students reach their highest potential and am excited to be part of a dedicated team that shares the same goal.

Ms Mona

Music Teacher

Hello! My name is Mona Gad and I am a music teacher with 6 years of experience. As an Egyptian national, I am excited to bring my passion for music to the young learners at our esteemed educational nursery.

My approach to teaching music is to create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression. I enjoy leading a variety of music lessons for students of different ages and skill levels, and developing innovative lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles. Through interactive activities and games, I encourage student participation and understanding.

In my spare time, I enjoy creating my own music, playing the piano, and exploring different genres of music. I also love attending live concerts. My educational philosophy centres around fostering creativity, self-confidence, and teamwork in my students. I believe that instilling a love of music that extends beyond the classroom is essential for lifelong learning and accomplishment.

As a music teacher, my goal is to inspire and empower students to unleash their full musical potential. I aim to create an inclusive and fun learning environment where students can explore their unique talents, develop their skills and discover the transformative power of music. I believe that kindergarten is a crucial time for young learners to lay a strong foundation for their personalities and enhance their cognitive, social, and motor skills. At our nursery, we consider ourselves one big family and strive to provide a unique educational experience for all our young children.
